step one

Your dentist will carry out x-rays to assess how far the infection has spread in the tooth, what is happening with your surrounding teeth and gums.  Your medical history will be looked at and questions around the procedure will be answered

step two

A dental anaesthetic injection will be given at this appointment.  Once your mouth is numb, the dental area will be thoroughly cleaned using special tools and your dentist will fill this area in with a dental filling. 
Dental aftercare which is good

step three

Once this is complete, your dentist will provide you with aftercare advice. 
You will feel sore for a few hours afterwards. 
You may be required to come in for a follow on appointment should your case be complicated.

Yes if you have had local anaesthetic. But we would recommend taking it easy for a few hours after the procedure.
